WE ARE Tippecanoe Homebrewers’ Circle (THC), a somewhat organized group of homebrew beer, cider, and mead enthusiasts in Tippecanoe County, Indiana. Tippecanoe county is home to the “twin” cities of Lafayette and West Lafayette and to Purdue University, as well as to the field of that 1811 battle.

Most months we have a meeting on the second Monday of the month, 6 – 8 pm, in the upstairs at Lafayette Brewing Co. We share homebrews and discuss them, and here are often announcements about upcoming events and competitions. Sometimes there’s an short educational presentation. Themes range from style focused samplings (e.g. IPA night), to club competitions (e.g. Strong Ale competition), and short educational topics (e.g. How to make healthy yeast).
Bring homebrew to meetings if you have homebrew, or just join us. If you’ve never brewed before or don’t have any beer bottles don’t worry about it. Come anyway! If you’ve never been upstairs at LBC the doorway is along the front left wall. Please do not bring commercial beer into LBC; that’s something that requires another level of getting okayed due to IN laws.
Events such as brew days at individuals’ homes, the annual “Callout” brew day at People’s Brewing Company in the fall, “Winter Warmer” at LBC, TAP for TAF, Beers Across the Wabash, and BREWERY TOURS (!!) happen often enough to keep us busy and entertained.
Brew days will last 4-8 hours (no requirement that anybody stay all day!), and sometimes there are several brewers who’ve lugged their equipment over to the location and multiple batches are underway. Most people bring beer, wine, mead, cider, etc. that they have made for others to sample. There is often food ranging from cookies to grilled meat at meetings, although the only thing you are expected to bring is an interest in good beer and/or other fermentations
