April 2024 meeting had the 2nd part of our Alpha Acid test. This time we had Ahtanum, Mandarina Bavaria, Barbe Rouge, Nectaron, Citra and El Dorado hops on display.







Corey Patterson presented on beer clarity, haze and other related beer issues.

Our August meeting was focused on historical beer styles. Todd Cogswell presented on Koyt and Gose styles, Lloyd Chatham discussed Kotbusser, Hugh Gardner explained Mumm and other gruit styles, and Keith Goldstein from Circle City Zymurgy joined us to talk about his Piwo Z Grodziska (which won best of show in the 2021 Indiana Brewers’ Cup). Todd presented on Weissen yeast beers.
April meeting sampled the IPA kits given out at the holiday party. Brewers were encouraged to make their own stamp on the base kit, and 7 brewers brought 8 samples.




Mary and Jeff Quinn talked about their experience working with Chocolate in Beer.




Kory Cooper presented on the Archaeology of Beer (slides added 2/9/2023).

Greg Emig, owner of Lafayette Brewing Company was nice enough to present on The Rise of Craft Beer in Indiana, and has also provided his presentation slides for those who couldn’t attend in person.

Joins us this month as Blichmann marketing will conduct a “focus group” on homebrew equipment and Jarrod Doucette will present on a recent Barrel Aged beer project. And as always, please bring your homebrew samples to share!!
